Birthday Drink

Relaxing afternoon. Perfect for friends to come together and catch up! We covered our toes with the sugary white sand, drank wonderful wine and champagne (thank you, Fi XX), munched on yummy tapas and toasted "Happy Birthday~~" with cupcakes!

These individual little cakes are perfect for outdoor gatherings. No mess, no cutting and no cleaning up!  Pretty-pink cupcakes are for girls, gentle-blues are for boys and pastel-yellow cupcakes just in case.

Buttery Rosies

This is my final exam cake for my cake decorating class in June. These are butter-cream hand piped roses. Delicate dusky pink against a showy white canvas. It was so beautiful I could hardly bring myself to cut it open. A devils' food cake made from a recipe in "More from Magnolia" by the owner of world famous Magnolia Bakery, Allysa Torey. Pure angelic white on the outside and devilishly seductive black inside...Hmmmm

Hand piping roses are not as difficult as they look, however, they do require lots of practice. My little domestic helper HM would back up my story. She watches me do it so many times now she can pipe butter-cream roses better than me!

Cuppy Cakes

You're my honeybunch, sugar plum. Pumpy-umpy-umpkin.
You're my sweetie pie. You're my cuppycake, gumdrop.
Snoogums, boogums, you're the apple of my eye.
And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'm always be right here and I want to sing
Sweet songs to you because you are so dear...

What a lovely song by Judianna Castle!

I caught the cup cake fever! My dear sister-in-law gave me a cupcake cook book for Christmas (Thank you! Juline XXX) and the rest is history. I am in love with the idea of dressing up each little tasty morsel with sprinkles, confetti and of course, jellybeans.

For My Peter Pan

his birthday, I made this carrot cake covered with home-
made fondant. A hit in the office! Being designers, they
decided to have a photo-shoot.
Photographer: self-acclaimed super photographer A.
Assistants: forever enduring H and sugar addict B.

Ushla, friend of my dear mother-in-law, is German who
hails from South Africa now lives in England. A very well-
groomed lady, whose recipe is surprisingly down to earth.
This is my favorite carrot cake by far, it's tender and
moist with sweet aroma that reminds you of all the good
things in your (well, at least mine) childhood.
On top of all, it's a doodle to make!
